Citi Private Bank Hires New Swiss Head

Citi Private Bank is appointing a veteran to run its business in Switzerland and Monaco. Her remit is somewhat smaller than that of her predecessor.

Laurence Mandrile-Aguirre will take over the U.S. bank’s wealth management operations in Switzerland and Monaco over the next two months, according to a memo seen by finews.com. She takes over from James Holder, who is moving within the New York-based bank to a job in London. A spokeswoman for Citi confirmed the contents of the memo.

Unlike Holder, who was responsible for all of northern Europe, Mandrile-Aguirre’s responsibility is limited to the two countries. Citi’s wealth business in Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, the Benelux states, and France will be run by  Gregor Bollen.

The new Swiss boss is a Citi «lifer» who is moving from London to Geneva for the job. Most recently, she was head of investment counseling for the U.K., in which she worked with some of the bank’s largest clients and family offices in the wider Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
