Nick Gartside has left his role as global head of fixed income and bond fund manager at JP Morgan Asset Management.
Mr Gartside has been an employee of JP Morgan since 2010 and previously worked at Schroders and Mercury Asset Management.
His fund management responsibilities will be taken on by Ian Stealey.
A JP Morgan Asset Management spokesman said: « Gartside has decided to leave JP Morgan Asset Management to pursue other opportunities.
« Portfolio manager Iain Stealey will take over Nick’s role as international chief investment officer, global fixed income, currencies and commodities group.
« Iain will continue to co-manage funds on which Nick was named alongside Robert Michele, chief investment officer and head of global fixed income.
« Iain, who has been with JPMAM for more than 16 years, has been named on these funds since their inception alongside Robert Michele.
« There will be no changes to the existing investment processes. Bob and Iain will continue following the firm’s team-oriented investment discipline. »
Darius McDermott, managing director of Chelsea Financial Services, said: « Nick is a well known manager in the retail fixed income space. But he has always had a lower risk mindset.
« JP Morgan has one of the biggest fixed income teams globally at over 270 individuals.
« The funds Nick was on had three co-managers and will now have two in Bob Michael and Iain Stealey. Also there will be no change to the way the fund is run.
« That said Nick is a good investor and his input will be missed. »
